Dr. Ofra Benny - Faculty of Medicine’s School of Pharmacy

Dr. Ofra Benny is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine’s School of Pharmacy and is a member of the School’s Institute for Drug Research. From 2010 to 2013 she was an Instructor at Harvard Medical School, specializing in Vascular Biology, as well as a research associate at the Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Benny was a post-doctoral fellow at Harvard Medical School – Boston Children’s Hospital from 2008-2010. 
Following her doctoral studies (at the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology), Dr. Benny intensified her research in the field of nanomedicine and cancer therapy focusing on pathological angiogenesis - a critical component in cancer, and in ocular conditions including age-related macular degeneration (AMD), corneal inflammation and diabetic retinopathy. As part of this research she developed an oral formulation for a new drug which she named LODAMIN (from Hebrew “no blood” in). LODAMIN is now being developed for clinical use for cancer and ocular neovascular.
